Peter Gene Hernandez, mais conhecido pelo seu nome artístico Bruno Mars, é um cantor, compositor, produtor e multi-instumentista norte-americano, nascido e criado em Honolulu, capital do Havaí. Tem ascendência filipina e porto-riquenha.

Em 2010, lançou seu álbum de estréia, intitulado Doo-Wops & Hooligans, lançado em 4 de Outubro daquele ano, pelo selo da Atlantic/Elektra Records.

O single "Grenade", atingiu a 1ª posição da Hot 100 americana, permanecendo nesta posição por oito semanas não consecutivas.

Comparado a lendários artistas como Michael Jackson e Elvis Presley, Mars é considerado um dos mais "versáteis e completos artistas pop da atualidade", segundo um dos críticos do The New York Times.
